Energy Efficiency Standards for Ventilation Units

According to RTL standards 13053 DIN EN the level of energy efficiency of the ventilator is indicated by the labels "B", "A", "A +" and determined according to such parameters, as: heat exchanger efficiency class, fan power consumption class, class of air flow velocity in the cross section of the ventilator.

According to the above standards, the level of air flow velocity in the cross section of ventilation installations is divided into nine classes. Based on the amount of electricity consumed and the resulting performance in terms of air and pressure, by 13053 DIN EN determine the energy consumption class of the fan of a particular ventilation unit.

The formula is written in the standard, on which the calculation is made, as well as a table to determine which energy class a particular fan belongs to, starting from P1 and ending with P7.

The standard also contains recommendations for finding the energy efficiency class of utilization for ventilation units equipped with a heat exchanger, starting from H1 and ending with H6. To correctly determine the class, you should know the value of the aerodynamic resistance of the heat exchanger and the heat recovery coefficient for dry air. Besides, during the creation of ventilators, SFP is determined (fan energy efficiency class) according to standards 13053 YOUR ONE.

Selection of ventilation according to energy efficiency characteristics

In the program of choice professional ventilation from Rosenberg successfully implemented determination of energy efficiency classes and all calculations. Choosing these ventilation units, the customer receives data on the energy efficiency class, to which the setting he has chosen belongs, and, of course, all its main technical characteristics. TÜV SÜD organization strictly controls the accuracy of the calculations made by the program. On the Internet resource www.rlt-geraete.de you can find detailed information about the above mentioned standards and RTL labels.

Selection program during calculation Airbox central air conditioners provides data on the energy efficiency class according to the Eurovent standard (European association of manufacturers of refrigeration and ventilation equipment). When a ventilation unit is released from production, an energy efficiency sign is affixed to it. The Eurovent organization certifies the products of its member manufacturers and gives them the right to label the energy efficiency class of the produced equipment according to the created scale, where E is the lowest energy efficiency class, and A is the highest. When determining the energy efficiency class, the following parameters are taken into account, as: fan power level, heat exchanger efficiency level, heat exchanger pressure loss, outdoor temperature level, external pressure loss, air speed level.
